The Belgian World Summit Award 2010-2011 will be organised by Internet Society Belgium and inspired by the WSA - WORLD SUMMIT AWARD in order to select quality e-content and promote creativity and innovation in new media applications in Belgium. This multi-aim award, encourages creativity, nominates the eight best Belgian e-Content products (one for each category: e-Culture, e-Science, e-Government, e-Entertainment, e-Health, e-Inclusion, e-Learning, e-Business) to the World Summit Award.

The Belgian World Summit Award is unique in Belgium thanks to its specific categories, which cover all aspects and sectors of the emerging Knowledge Society and emphasize, during the competition itself and the evaluation process, the added value of multimedia and electronic contents for specific user groups and purposes. Content and creativity are the key aspects, without which we face a digital world completely empty and dull.

The World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-Mobile) is a global initiative to select and promote the world’s best in mobile content and innovative applications within the framework of, and in cooperation with, the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), mandated by the WSIS Plan of Action and executed in collaboration with UNESCO, UNIDO and UN GAID.
